Here's more information:
Every year on the last
Friday in January, Constable Bob Lew has been in charge of all
security during the annual Cowboy Breakfast. In 2001, it was estimated
that about
50,000 people were served the free breakfast on the parking lot of
Central Park Mall.
Bob Lew assembled a small army of deputies before 4:00 a.m. to
handle the crowds,
and all went as planned without incident.
Officials from the
Guinness Book of World Records were on hand, and after they counted
18,941 people being served in a single hour, they declared the Cowboy
Breakfast to have
set a new world record.
Precinct 3 Constable Reserves are a 100% Participating
Unit in
Reserve Law Officers Association of America and have been so
for the past 32 years.
